Mission Health’s Journey to Prevent Workplace Violence
Thursday 15 December 2016, 11:00 AM PST - 01:00 PM PST
Please join the AHA on December 15, 2:00 – 3:00 pm ET for the next webinar in our educational series as a part of our “Hospitals Against Violence” initiative. When assaults on staff were on the increase, and Mission Health’s staff reported feeling unsafe, Mission’s leadership set a plan in motion to decrease and prevent workplace injuries -- injuries that resulted in lost work time and disabilities, and caused staff to leave or consider leaving due to fear. Prevention became a top priority. Mission Health’s leadership formed a multidisciplinary team to review data and address concerns. Next came an intense focus on staff education and competency, early intervention and prevention, and post event measures. And while ongoing, the data shows progress.
